Victorian Glasshouse

There’s no need to travel outside the country to experience world class sights, you can find it right here. Journey through time with the Conservatory at Dahilayan.

Glasshouses were originally used by the elite during the Victorian era, when botany was the most popular science of the 19th century. As plants from different parts of the world were collected and brought back to the UK for study and preservation, a need for a perfectly controlled environment arose and this is how glasshouses came to be.

The owner, Engr. Elpidio Paras believed that Dahilayan would be the perfect setting for a Victorian glasshouse and he built one just in time for his youngest daughter’s wedding.
